πŸ“πŸ±πŸŽ A Diplomatic Mission to Den Bosch

My humans have finally paid an official visit to Mila, the newest member of my Circle of Friendship.

I would have preferred the introductions to take place when Mila first assumed command of her household in Den Bosch. Unfortunately, I gave my humans a holiday allowance which they insisted on using at precisely that moment. I recognise that leave must occasionally be taken. I remain unconvinced by their timing.

Once back on duty, they travelled to Den Bosch as my representatives. They brought the customary gifts and were presented to Mila, passing before her to offer their greetings and a wave. I trust they kept the waving dignified. Humans can become rather enthusiastic when a cat permits them into the same room. They crouch, make little kissing noises and offer a finger for inspection. Then they mistake permission to sniff it for permission to rearrange one’s ears.

Mila has recently taken charge of her own two humans, so I was especially interested in this first diplomatic report. Mine came home delighted with her. They offered considerably less detail on the important questions, such as whether Mila has identified the best chair and how promptly her staff respond to a look. I shall have to request a more useful briefing.

After the formalities, both couples of humans attended a celebratory meal together in Den Bosch to mark our friendship. It was a lovely gesture, and I am pleased they get on so well. Four humans dining on behalf of two cats is perhaps a generous staffing arrangement, but I shall allow it.

Our humans have been friends for 33 years. One does wonder why it took them so long to arrange a proper feline alliance.

Yours,
Mrs. Cotton 🐱🐾
