📝🐱⭐Major Starbert Reports for Duty

This afternoon, a new recruit reported for training.

His name is Major Starbert the Starfish, and he comes from the more exotic regions of my kingdom, a mysterious territory beyond the usual sofa, dining chairs and approved sleeping quarters.

I understand he has travelled some distance to enter my service. Admirable, certainly, although I remain unclear as to who approved his transfer.

Major Starbert is yellow, cheerful and entirely unequipped for the responsibilities of the post.

Naturally, I began his assessment immediately.

His enthusiasm was satisfactory. His ability to remain upright was less convincing. His defensive technique, I regret to report, remains disappointingly floppy.

Still, every new member of staff deserves proper training.

I therefore spent part of the afternoon demonstrating the correct procedures for pursuit, interception, paw placement and decisive tactical engagement. Major Starbert contributed mainly by lying on the floor and looking optimistic.

There is work to be done.

But I am a patient ruler, and my household has an excellent continuing education programme.

Major Starbert will simply require rather more continuing education points than most.

For now, he has been accepted into the Royal Training Department on a provisional basis.

I shall review his progress personally.
