📝🐱🐟Household Policy Update: The Open-Door Night Shift

I am pleased to report that the recent decision to leave the doors open at night has been met with my approval.

Naturally, I do not sleep in just one place. That would suggest a lack of options, and I have worked far too hard on this household to tolerate such restrictions.

Some nights I select the sofa. On others, a chair, a quiet corner, or another carefully chosen location that happens to meet my requirements at that precise moment. Comfort must be assessed continuously. A proper ruler does not simply go to bed. She conducts overnight inspections.

The open-door arrangement therefore suits me rather well. I can move freely through my household, check that everything remains where I left it and select whichever sleeping quarters deserve the honour of my presence.

My humans may even believe this means they can enjoy an uninterrupted night.

Bless them.

Because regardless of where I have chosen to sleep, one household rule remains completely unchanged.

At 06:30 sharp, I am on the bed.

Not 06:27, because I am not unreasonable.

Not 06:35, because standards must be maintained.

06:30.

That is breakfast time.

I consider punctuality one of the most important qualities in human staff, so I make a point of being there personally to supervise the start of the morning shift.

Doors may remain open.

Sleeping arrangements may remain flexible.

But breakfast?

Breakfast is governed by the clock.

Yours, Mrs. Cotton 🐱🐾
